One of the things I’m super excited about this year is how my writing is being used in new form. Years ago Dr. Erin Busch, composer, cellist and all around Most Incredible Person, set some of my words to music. The result was a piece called I know a god (for soprano, flute, clarinet and percussion).
That was absolutely wild to me.
This year, a different composter from Wildflower Composers is setting one of my poems from here to music.
And each month, Erin and I are back at it for the congregation we both serve, creating a monthly centering song based on our theme and our monthly earth teacher.
October’s theme was Heritage. Our Earth Teacher was an Acorn. And these were the inspiration for Becoming. You can check out the score below and listen to Erin teaching the congregation here!
